Athol Shmith: Playful Eroticism-Yes, the name of the photograph does seem a little inappropriate-
However, I have loved this photo since I was 16. I know nothing of the photographer or of the photo at all. No story. Nothing. One day, I just saw it in the Sydney Morning Herald, in the Arts section, near the back....and I was captivated. I cut it out (oh and when I say cut-implying 'neatly-, I mean really ripped-not very neatly-) and stuck it on my school folder. Most people thought it was lame or didn't see what was so special about it, and the boys loved talking about the title of it. (HAHA man they are so funny) But I didn't care.
I don't even know what it is about this photograph. It's not spectacular by any means. Perhaps it's the simplistic nature...? I don't know.
Maybe I don't like it as much as I think I do. 'Playful Eroticism'. Yeah. Maybe I just like it for the name...?
Maybe. But I thought I'd share it anyway..
